HAND-SEWN CIVIL WAR PERIOD 35-STAR WEST VIRGINIA STATEHOOD AMERICAN NATIONAL FLAG, navy blue wool canton with single-appliqued cotton stars, 13 red and white wool stripes, sewn linen hoist fitted with two brass grommets, retains old label inscribed "Butterworth". Unframed. Circa 1863. Approximately 84" x 140".
Very good overall condition with minor breaks, small losses, fraying, and areas of discoloration.
