About the artist: Robert Martin Harvey (USA/Spain 1924-2004) started his life in Florida, then moved to New York as a young man. Harvey worked at the well-known framing company, House of Heydenryk, where he had the opportunity to meet many famous artists, designers and architects. Harvey later traveled often, between New York and the American southwest before moving to San Francisco in 1953. The Bay Area remained his home for many years before deciding to move to Spain where he spent the remainder of his life.Robert Harvey showed at galleries around the world, and won many awards in the United States including the Ford Foundation Purchase Award, Honorable Mention at the Corcoran Gallery in Washington D.C., and 1st prize at the Mead CorporationÂ’s "Art Across America". In 2001 his work was selected for show at ARCO, the international art fair in Madrid, Spain.
