Description
(lot of 30+) Vintage gelatin silver prints depicting Hawaiian Women at the time of World War II, photographs shot by the U.S. Naval Photographic team in Oahu around 1940-1946, these rare photos show a side of life on the island during WWII for locals, from the Naval Photographers point of view, overall (largest photo/all unframed): 10"h x 8"w. Provenance: Elmer (Elm) Aldrich, 1914-2010. He spent much of the war in Pearl Harbor at the Pacific Fleet Photography Lab, working on and supervising production of photographic records of ships, planes, people and battle sites. After Mr. Aldrich's passing, family found these photographs from his time there.
