Description
Western Europe, probably England or France, Medieval Period, ca. 12th to early 15th century CE. A forged-steel spear head of a minimalist yet intimidating form with an elongated triangular blade above a tapered socketing shaft. The flat ridge design of the blade head features sharpened edges, a pair of lightly protruding lateral fins, and a shallow midrib that courses down the blade until terminating at the pointed tip. Steel spear heads like this example were prevalent weapons on Medieval battlefields as they were highly efficient as disposing of one's enemies from a distance. Size: 13.3" L x 2.6" W (33.8 cm x 6.6 cm)
