Rail & Road Auctions is proud to present our Spring 2022 Transportation Fine Art auction. This event features a wide selection of automotive and railroad related artwork.
The automotive artwork is highlighted by several original paintings from artist Henry Kolodziej who had a long career with McNamara Brothers Studio in Detroit. McNamara was widely regarded as one of the top art studios in Detroit during the late 1950?s. Kolodziej?s work has a distinct style and the era?s of automobiles represented in his work range from the 1920s through the 1990s.
Other notable automotive works in this sale come from artists John Krieger, Charles Harvey, Fran Gianfrido, Ken Eberts, Dennis Brown, and more.
The railroad art is highlighted by a fine original painting from Howard Fogg. The painting entitled ?New York, New Haven, & Hartford Railroad #773? which was painted in 1949. The painting is well documented in John Scala?s book, Howard Fogg and the Diesel Image.
There are several other notable railroad artists included in this sale such as Gil Bennett, John Bromley, and Edward Paulson. Alongside these fine artists we will also be including an original piece of Santa Fe advertising art.
