Drouot based Aguttes Auction house, in association with the Cabinet d’Expertise Dan Coissard, will present a collection of important American and European Contemporary paintings and photographs on Monday, December 19th at l’hôtel Drouot in Paris, France. The auction will also include exceptional Russian and French Nineteenth and Twentieth century painting as well as Impressionist, Post-Impressionist and Orientalist paintings. The sale begins at 2:30 pm and will be presented by Maître Claude Aguttes in room seven of Drouot. You may follow or bid in the auction at www.ebayliveauctions.com. One of the most notable works is Robert Indiana’s Yield Brother #II, an homage to President John F. Kennedy. Other contemporary works to be auctioned include two of Tom Wesselmann’s renowned Liquitex embossed nudes from 1968 and Alex Katz’s portrait of the American photographer Cindy Sherman, as well as a Violin sculpture by Arman, works by Vasily Kafanov, Nicolaï Makarov, Chu Teh Chun, Edouardo Arranz-Bravo, Josefina Robirosa, Arpad Szenes, Yvaral, Victor Vasarely, Francis Bacon, Ron Agam and Anne and John Abbott. An important collection of sixty Russian School paintings and works on paper will be presented, including paintings by Nicholai-Sverchkov Egorovich, Vladimir Makovsky, Alexander Orlovsky, Vasily-Alesandrovich Kotarbinksy, Ivan Aivazovsky, Ivan-Ivanovitch Chichkine, Vladimir Pavlovich Kormaneyevsky, Paul Chmaroff, George Lapchine, Alexei Korovine, Constant-Alexis Korovine, Albert Benois, Alexander-Nikolaïvetch Korovine, Vera Rockline, Natalia Goncharova, Léon Bakst, Georges Artemoff, Sergei Maliotine, Aleksandr Serbebriakoff, Sacha Zaliouk, Wassily Kandinksy, Bela Kadar, Ossip Zadkine, Marc Chagall, Henri Nouveau, Michel Larionov, Henri Laurens, Alexandre Rodchenko, Nina Kogan and Matiushin Michail Vassilievich. Orientalist paintings include works by Henri-Jean Pontoy, Georges Washington, Alexandre-Antoine Girardot, Alexis-Auguste Delahogue, Gustave Boulanger, Paul Delamain, Fikret Moualla and Lucien Levy-Dhurmer. The auction will include an impressive Impressionist and Post-Impressionist collection, including works by Marie Laurencin, Maximilien Luce, and Henri Martin.
