Native American, Pacific Northwest Coast, Tlingit, ca. 1950s to 1960s CE, made by Tlingit silversmith Bill J. Wilson. A delightfully zoomorphic sterling silver bracelet in the form of an owl whose head and torso form one terminal and whose tail feathers form the others; in between, the shank of the bracelet is engraved with feathers. To the Tlingit, as well as many other Native American cultures, the owl's nocturnal activities are often associated with an ability to communicate with the dead/spirit world, and shamans are connected with the animals. Signed Bill J. Wilson. Size: 2.9" W (7.4 cm); 19.5 grams

Condition
Wearable as shown. Surface wear commensurate with age, with very slight bending to overall form, otherwise intact and excellent. The name "Bill J. Wilson" stamped into underside, and "MAG," and "Sterling," stamped behind tail terminal.
