Well potted with low rounded sides rising to slightly flaring rims, the dish is finely painted in underglaze-blue using displays of "heap and pile" characteristics with a central gardenia spray bearing two flowers and buds, the cavetto decorated with twelve lotus blossoms on a continuous meander, exterior painted with evenly spaced sprays of pomegranates, peaches, peony blossoms and crabapples, Xuande mark on base.
