A RARE CHINESE YELLOW GLAZED PORCELAIN SHALLOW BOWL, MARK AND PERIOD OF JIAJING (1522-1566). Finely potted of conical form covered in a yellow glaze with signs of iridescence. Six character mark of Jiajing to base within double circle in underglaze blue. 19.9cm diam. Provenance: From a local home acquired by the vendors parents circa 1970, thence by descent.Ref: For a similar but smaller bowl see the Arthur M. Sackler Collections Christie's Sale 17th September 2010, Lot 1976.
Condition
With visible signs of wear to interior of bowl. Faint hairlines running from rim. 1.5cm hairline running over the foot rim into the base.
