Portrait frontispiece, plates. List of illustrations tipped in at rear as issued. 8vo. Binding rubbed, soiled, and corners bumped. BOLDLY INSCRIBED AND SIGNED on the flyleaf in ink by Houdini: “To Carey Wilson / Best Wishes from / the author / Harry Handcuff / Houdini / December 14/1918.” Wilson’s bookplate is affixed to the pastedown.
Carey Wilson was a noted screenwriter, voice actor, and producer. He authored the screenplays for Ben Hur (1925), and Mutiny on the Bounty (1935), and was one of the founding members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
