Description
A large antique Chinese, late Qing Dynasty, Famille Verte hand enameled porcelain vase. The vase is adorned with courtyard scenes, and a blossoming tree with many birds. The neck and the base are adorned with hand enameled geometrical and foliage patterns, and medallions. The mouth features a traditional Greek motif. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century. Green family Famille Verte uses a range of transparent green enamels that dominate the other enamels, most often red, yellow, aubergine, underglaze cobalt blue, until the end of the 17th century, and enamel blue from the beginning of the 18th century.
