Description

Fine quality palmwood Spear from the Solomon Islands circa 1880s, the barbed end of the spear has sharp bones as barbs, with tightly wrapped plant fibers, the spear has a well carved figure of Kagoi with white backing above the traditional Uiro. The shaft has been cut in half. Height 123 1/4 Inches (313 cm) Width 1 1/2 Inches (4.0 cm)

Condition

The shaft was cut in half at an angle, there are barbs missing and wear to the plant wrappings.
