DUMAS ALEXANDRE: Père. (1802-1870) French Writer whose works include The Three Musketeers. A.L.S., `Al. Dumas´, one page, 4to, n.p., n.d., to Fanny, in French. Dumas states in part `..you will be very kind letting me believe, when you and your family leave Vienna, that you are my friends, most of all your cousine..´ Small overall creasing, G £150-200 Fanny Elssler (1810-1884) Austrian Ballerina. At the age of 17 the young famous artist gave birth to a son of Prince Leopold of Salerno, son of King Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies. Elssler´s ability to perform dramatically was exceptional, her performances of the great Romantic ballets, earned Elssler a place among the most talented and notable ballerinas of the Romantic ballet period. The legend of her love affairs with Napoleon´s son inspired in part Dumas´ novel The Mohicans of Paris (1855)
