Sight: 24" wd x 20" ht., Framed 28" wd. x 30" ht., Oil on canvas, signed L.L. R.H. Love Galleries tag on verso. Patricia Weiner Gallery tag on verso. Housed in an ornate gilt and gesso frame. Carl Peters was an active Regionalist painter from New York in the 1930s and 1940s, he was a camouflage artist during WWII and painted WPA murals for the Federal Arts Project during the Depression. He purportedly painted every day from the time he was sixteen years old. Like his mentor, John F. Carlson, Peters' forte was snow scenes.
