Chinese Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), silk embroidery robe. Fine Chinese Imperial Silk Court Robe of Imperial Gold-Yellow color, embroidered with circular panels of dragon medallion amid clouds in metallic and various color threads on the center silk robe. Highly decorated with golden thread. Satin stitch on a gold ground with ascending enormous front facing ruby-red imperial five-claws dragon flying amidst ruyi clouds, above cresting wavy Lishui water, and with a blazing flame pearl looms at the center of the moon flask beneath the dragons gaze, standing between gold-yellow base color. The colors are harmonious, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye.
