Bound with Genealogies, including map by John Speed 1611, 2, 34, 4, double-page map of Canaan, Both title pages, OT title page included as facsimile, NT title page original.

Handsome early calf over beveled wooden boards, stamped in blind and with brass corner and centerpieces, lacks clasps and some metalwork missing, some cover cracking at opening

re-backed with edges rubbed.

Black letter King James Bible, easily distinguishable from other folio editions by its smaller type... with 72 instead of 59 lines to the full column -- Herbert 322. Interestingly, the map was taken from a 1611 edition of the Genealogies. Extremely Valuable !

With ample margins, 16.25" x 10.5". C6, D4; A-4M6, 4N4 wanting initial leaves A-B4, which includes the general title and several leaves of the calendar.

Overall, contents are Good+ with marginal thumbing and soiling, some corner-chips, closed tears in places, though the following notable flaws are- Calendar, prelims some damp staining and repairs, Genealogies, Map with marginal chipping with some loss, and leaf depicting Adam and Eve with closed tear, title with upper margin cropped, Bible Aa3 with tissue repair of long closed tear, Gg6 with small hole removing 2 letters, Oo6 with chip removing last couple of words from 9 lines of text, 4 leaves with old marginal paper repairs, final leaf laid down, last 10 leaves with chips partially removing headlines and a few words of text in a few cases, later third of New Testament with damp staining mostly to upper portion.

Provenance: Ink signatures of Edward Meredith in several places, dated in the mid-1700s.
