Description
A beautiful large Famille Verte Rouleau vase with a wrapping hand painted scene of soldiers on horses and on foot intercepting a group of Court Ladies also on foot and horse as well as possibly a princess and her attendants being pushed in chariot. The attendants in the chariot are holding a flag with a 4-clawed dragon and the lady seated in between the two attendants is wearing a better quality robe and a crown upon her head as well as earrings. The scene appears to be taking place in the midst of a mountainous region as the people in the scene are bordered by cliffs and bonsais. The lip of the vase is patterned with green interlocking scrolls. The underside is marked with a beautiful unger glazed blue incense burner. The vase lastly features a couple of sticker ,tags and old barcodes from auction at Christies.
