Vien pienamente riconosciuto il diritto di proprietà degli inventori e degli autori di scoperte.La legge prevede inoltre l'istituzione di un elenco dei brevetti per invenzione e comporterà conseguenze di portata storica: se gli autori di invenzioni e scoperte tecniche, come gli autori di opere scritte (artisti e compositori di musica), ottengono soddisfazione, giacché le loro esigenze coincidono perfettamente con gli ideali della Rivoluzione, commercianti e fabbricanti, invece, vedono i loro mezzi di proteggere i loro prodotti distrutti. Infatti, l'uso dei marchi è chiaramente identificato con le pratiche aziendali dell'Ancien Régime. Era quindi possibile utilizzare un marchio aziendale quando si faceva parte di una società o utilizzare un marchio individuale. Abolendo le corporazioni e fissando il principio della libertà del commercio e dell'industria, il legislatore ha posto fine a questo sistema. Le magistrature e le jurandes, le fabbriche privilegiate, e quindi i tribunali che prima risolvevano le controversie tra fabbricanti e operai, scomparvero, lasciando certamente ai creatori la possibilità di dare libero sfogo alla loro inventiva, ma anche permettendo ai truffatori di agire in totale impunità.Cfr. The property right of inventors and authors of discoveries is fully recognizedThe law also provides for the establishment of a list of patents for inventions and will have consequences of historic significance: if the authors of inventions and technical discoveries, such as the authors of written works (artists and music composers), obtain satisfaction, since their needs coincide perfectly with the ideals of the Revolution, traders and manufacturers, however, see their means of protecting their products destroyed. Indeed, the use of trademarks is clearly identified with the business practices of the Ancien Régime. It was therefore possible to use a corporate brand when part of a corporation or to use an individual brand. By abolishing the corporations and establishing the principle of freedom of commerce and industry, the legislator put an end to this system. The judiciary and the jurandes, the privileged factories, and therefore the courts that previously resolved the disputes between manufacturers and workers, disappeared, certainly leaving the creators the possibility to give free rein to their inventiveness, but also allowing the scammers to act with total impunity.
