A Gold-Lacquer Three-Case Inro
Edo period (1615-1868), 19th century
The kinji ground decorated in gold takamaki-e, kirikane, and gold togidashi maki-e with a continuous scene depicting a pine grove along the shores of a bay on one side and thatched dwellings among mountainous landscape on the other, a waterfall lacquered in silver hiramaki-e in the foreground, the interior of rich nashiji; signed on the base of the bottom case in gold hiramaki-e Kajikawa Bunryusai. 6cm x 7cm (2 3/8in x 2Âľin).
