Description
A 2007 Theodore Scharpach acoustic archtop guitar, serial #0293 in a natural finish, owned and played by Randy Bachman, who has sold 40 million records worldwide as a member of The Guess Who, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and as a solo artist.
Custom-made for Randy and produced using aged wood from luthier Walter Lang’s workshop in Germany. Lang made exceptional instruments in Germany during the 1950s and 1960s, single-handedly crafting some of the finest and most coveted archtop guitars of the era. Years after Lang passed away, Netherlands-based luthier Theodore Scharpach acquired all of the aged wood in Lang’s old workshop, which piqued Randy’s interest.
“When I heard that Theo had started building guitars from Lang’s ancient wood stash, I contacted him and this is one of the first he made. It is an amazing guitar of beauty, craftsmanship, tone, woods, and playability.”
Made in the style of Stradivari school in Cremona, Italy. The headstock, fretboard, and tailpiece were all designed for Bachman, along with a custom pickup for “maximum tone,” in Randy’s words. Comes with two bridges, one rosewood and one ebony, for tonal variation. A truly stunning guitar.
A 25.5” scale length five-piece flame maple neck, ebony headstock veneer, mother of pearl inlay on the headstock. A 22 fret ebony fretboard with ornate mother of pearl inlays. A beautifully carved spruce top with flame maple binding around the sound holes. A two-piece flame maple back, flame maple sides, and an ebony pickguard. Gold tailpiece. Equipped with a pickup.
Includes brown hardshell case with pink interior.
