China, solidly potted with square section and grooved corners, each of the sides decorated with a scene in vivid cobalt blue, two opposite sides painted with distant river landscape, the other two sides painted with a crane amidst lotus plants and a 'Wang Bu' seal, and the opposite side a group of chickens amid chrysanthemum flowers and a 'Wang Bu' seal, the recessed base with a six character studio mark 'yuan wen wu guo zhi zhai.' Height 7 1/4 in.
Provenance: Formerly in the collection of Mr. John Keane, Northern California, who worked in Japan in the 1960's.
