Description
Letter written by Erastus W. Stacy of the 142nd New York. Three pages, no postal cover. Please see fourth and fifth pictures listed for scans of a full transcription.
Private Belcher writes that he is back with the regiment again (ostensibly he was hospitalized), that all “the boys” are happy to see him again, and that his Captain gave him a new gun he is “well suited with.” Belcher says “I expect that you will feel bad about my getting back here again, but keep up good courage.”
