Item Details
Description
This is a pair of two early railroad lamps. The first was saved from the Brimstone Railroad in Tennessee, which was a coal hauling railroad formed in 1942 from several logging railroads. They owned two Shay locomotives. The lantern is cast with B.R. on the side, and has a rotating red, clear, and green lens, moved by the upper handle, which also reveals the burner and fount inside when the door is opened. The second lantern is a red glass lantern with a clip-in fount. The burner has been replaced with a Dietz Convex brass burner. The front red panel lifts upward as well.
