An ancient Near Eastern Syro Hittite hand carved green stone statue or bust representing a head of a bull. Mounted on a rectangular shaped stand. Ancient Near East, Syria, Syro Hittite culture, Bronze Age, ca. 2nd millennium BCE. Bulls were a recurring theme in the ancient Near East, most likely symbolizing the leader of the herd, and thus representing strength and virility.
