Description

Well carved African Yombe tribe fetish figure, from the Congo, the female figure with bent arms holding her breasts, and enlarged buttocks, with glass eyes and metal rings around the legs. The patina on the figure leads us to believe the figure is late 19th century or early 20th century. Provenance: From the estate of Eugene Bernald of Ossining, New York. Height 6 ¼ Inches (15.9 cm) Width 1 ½ Inches (4.0 cm)

Condition

Good, possible damage to the top of the head, glass is missing from the stomach.
