Description
A late 1950s Hoyer Staccato archtop guitar, no serial number, in sunburst finish. Owned and played by Randy Bachman, who has sold 40 million records worldwide as a member of The Guess Who, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and as a solo artist. One out of a massive collection of German archtop guitars meticulously assembled by Randy over 30-plus years.
Rodebald “Rod” Hoyer opened up shop in the late 1940s, producing a surprising number of instruments in a short time. This Rod Hoyer guitar shows off his skillful craftsmanship with its multi-piece maple neck, hand-carved spruce top, and flame maple back and sides. A 21-fret ebony fretboard (no frets currently installed) adorned with single ply binding and red-and-white triangles making up its block inlays, multi-ply binding on the top and back of the body, a gentle cutaway for upper fret access, and a subtly attractive sunburst finish.
Split sound holes, harp tailpiece, adjustable ebony bridge, and a unique mother of pearl pickguard. Hoyer Staccato branding to the treble side of the bridge.
Includes black hardshell case with orange interior.
