Item Details
Description
A 2006 Epiphone Elitist Series Country Deluxe semi-hollow body electric guitar, serial #T605044, in Sunrise Orange finish. Owned, played, and modified by Randy Bachman, who has sold 40 million records worldwide as a member of The Guess Who, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and as a solo artist.
The Country Deluxe is the continuation of the Chet Atkins model, minus the Atkins association. It’s design is heavily influenced by the Gretsch guitars Chet was known for using, and is essentially Epiphone’s take on the Gibson Chet Atkins Country Gentleman, made in Japan from the mid-1980s to around 2006.
A 25.5” scale length maple neck with a 21 fret ebony fretboard, “thumb” inlays, 3x3 tombstone headstock shape with gold Grover Rotomatic tuners with Imperial buttons. Maple body with a flamed center-seam maple top with a Sunrise Orange finish. Thinline semi-hollowbody construction, two pickups with a three-way selector switch, independent volume controls and a master tone control, and a master volume located on treble side cutaway. Gold Tune-O-Matic style bridge, gold Bigsby vibrato.
Modifications were performed by Randy himself: replacement creme-colored plastics (knobs, pickup surrounds, matching switch tip), removal of the stock armrest, aftermarket arm for the Bigsby, and a set of Seymour Duncan P Rails pickups which allow for a number of coil combinations for wide-ranging tonal versatility. The pickups appear to have their positions reversed, neck for bridge and vice-versa.
Includes Epiphone Elitist hardshell case.
