Item Details
Description
first quarter 20th century, 195 x 90, North East Persia, Khorasan
The Khorasan Kurds often adopted designs of the neighbouring Baluchi tribes. The term “Kordi Baluch” has become established to describe such rugs. Here, a large tree of life stands in a camel field. The secondary border design of reciprocal hooks in dark brown and white similarly derives from Baluch models. The octagons filled with an eight-pointed star in the main border are a typically Kurdish design.
Well preserved, original finishes all around.
