Description
late 19th century, 189 x 100 cm, East Caucasus

The white field contains a directional design of five tall slender trees with thin stems. A closer look reveals that these are a row of plants with two leaves and a large blossom shaped like a stepped polygon with an interior chequerboard design.

Uniformly low pile, one major stain, original selvedges, both ends slightly reduced. Provenance: Ehrengard Freifrau von Trotha Collection. Formerly in the collection of Peter-Christian Graf von Kleist-Retzow
