Item Details
Description
This is a Chicago Burlington and Quincy Railroad Adlake round top non-sweating switch lamp. Cast in the switch post hole with CB&Q. Unable to photograph it because it is in the hole, but easily seen with the naked eye. This is one of several lanterns from the estate of Ray Canole, a well-known collector and restorer of railroad lanterns from Michigan. He has done exquisite restorations for many years. This lantern is in like new condition. Has two amber and two green lenses that are like-new, without cracks. Brass patent tag is easily seen on the chimney and the tag is easily readable. Chimney opens easily to reveal the proper smoke cone, as well as a replacement Dressel fount and correct brass burner. Wick adjuster knob on the exterior works fine. Paintwork is excellent. A fine example!
