Description
This is a Cripple Creek and Colorado Springs Railroad Adlake Reliable switchmans lantern. Originally a three foot narrow gauge line, it was later changed to standard gauge. Cast with C.C & C.S.R.R. on the rim, patent dates on the rim are 1897, 1908, 1909, 1911, 1912, and 1913. Plain red extended base globe. Correct original burner and brass fount. Lots of fine tinware remains on this lantern. From the narrow gauge railroad that connected Colorado Springs with Cripple Creek, Colorado. Seldom seen and impossible to find, this example will be a feature piece in the collection of a discriminating Colorado or narrow gauge railroad collector. Originally obtained by the consignor from the collection of a long time well-known Western/Colorado railroad enthusiast.
