Description
second half 19th century, 121 x 101 cm, Central Asia, middle Amu Darya valley

The distinctive field design of red snakes outlined in small dots was only woven by the Ersari and the Beshir Turkmen, albeit usually in larger format rugs. Small and almost square pieces are very rare.

Good condition, original selvedges, slightly damaged kilim ends.
