Description
first half 19th century, 81 x 116 cm, Central Asia, West Turkestan

Very fine in weave, this Tekke chuval using light colours and velvety pile wool was made in the area of the Akhal oasis. The field design comprises 16 small primary guls and chemche secondary guls. Five large, immaculately drawn trees stand alone in the wide elem.

Both sides somewhat reduced and rebound, otherwise in very good condition. No back.
